A team from Texas State University, to include our EPDC Specialist at Johnson Space Center, Steven Smith, took part in STEAM Night hosted by Cactus Ranch Elementary in Round Rock, TX. Elementary teachers, students and their parents engaged in a variety of STEAM related activities. Over 420 attendees took one small step in the Space Race as they experienced the Apollo 17 Mission to Mars inside the mobile planetarium. The students shared their experience and knowledge about the International Space Station with their parents via the virtual reality glasses that were set up at the exhibit. Teachers were exposed to NASA resources and activities that can be used in their classrooms and students were given the materials and instructions to carry out a hands-on STEM activity.
