Edwin Martinez

 

Edwin Martinez is a Lead in the Procurement Policy and Review Office at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC); Fla. Edwin serves as one of the focal points for policy coordination with NASA Headquarters and the rest of the KSC Procurement Office. This office manages collection, reporting, and analysis of acquisition data; development and review of local and higher-level policy that may affect the procurement process; development and revision of procedures for the Procurement Office. This office also provides the procurement policy review function for the Procurement Office and manages KSC Business System and the Opportunity for Improvement resolution/coordination within Procurement. In addition, this office provides project implementation leadership and the primary sustaining support within Procurement for all Integrated Enterprise Management Program modules that affect the Procurement Office.

Edwin has served in the KSC Diversity and Inclusion Committee of Employees (DICE) and as the Chairman of the Hispanic Outreach and Leadership Alliance (HOLA) Employee Resource Group (ERG). Both of these groups are in support of KSC’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office.

Edwin began his civilian federal service in 1998 as a Contract Specialist Intern for the Department of Defense (DoD) Army Material Command (AMC). Prior to joining the civilian ranks Edwin served in the U.S. Army Reserve in Puerto Rico from 1991 through 1995 and in the U.S. Army from 1996 through 1998. Edwin joined the NASA family in July of 2002.

Edwin was born on June 27, 1969, in New York, NY. He moved to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico at the age of 5. He graduated from Jose De Diego High School in Mayaguez, PR., in 1987. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 1994.
